Inna served as the CEO of Centre UA NGO – a think-tank from Ukraine and with the team controlled politicians, promoted a policy approach to decision-making, and advocated for political reform and transparency of parties’ finances. She used to be a member of the Council of the Reanimation Package of Reforms advocacy coalition – the biggest civil society advocacy platform, which was the driving force of the anti-corruption reform in Ukraine after the Revolution of Dignity. In 2020-2021, Inna used to be part of the reformers team of the state weapon producers concern «Ukroboronprom». Nelles also worked as a journalist and TV presenter on Hromadske.TV (independent online TV channel) and Ukrainian public broadcaster.

Inna holds a Master's degree in Public Relations from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, and an Advanced certificate in PR from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (UK). Inna Nelles is a co-founder of the Public Interest Journalism Lab, the interdisciplinary coalition, that tackles polarization in society, and a member of the supervisory board of Centre of United Actions NGO.
